About
Who we are

Miss Moss florals began as a retail store on the south side of Canberra. We were privileged to be an integral part of a close knit supportive community.

For more than five years, we helped our customers celebrate and commemorate some of the most important milestones in their lives.

We played our part, in training, some very talented future florists, connected with local businesses and National Institutions through some incredible events and assisted in raising funds for local schools and charities.

What We Are Doing Now

Our direction has changed in the last year with the closing of our store in mid 2023 and the move into floral education through flower workshops. These are held in a beautiful garden setting at our studio in Lyons and are created for all levels of skill and experience With prior arrangement classes may be held offsite and can be customised to suit a variety of occasions such as:

  • Pre wedding events,
  • Team building
  • Getting creative with some friends and learning a new skill.
  • One on one tuition

It’s through these workshops we hope to convey the same passion for flowers and design that we have developed over our many collective years in the industry. Creating a space to Gather together to discuss, experiment and learn. To show, through practice, how to achieve professional results using the nature that surrounds us in a truely sustainable way and develop a new appreciation for the effective use of design and materials that surround us in nature.

What To Expect.. Classes are generally of a small size to enable us to offer idividualised advice and feedback

All of your creations will be made with the best seasonal, local flowers available. Light refreshments are provided on your arrival, relax and enjoy the surroundings and be guided to your workspace where all your tools and and apron will be provided. We will have an Introduction to floral basics; care and preparation of flowers, techniques to extend vase life and essential tools of the trade, along with advice on flower selection and colour.

There will also be a full floral arranging demonstration before you begin to create your own in your chosen vessel, with the emphasis on sustainable floristry practices and design principals. There will be an opportunity to photograph your design and learn some styling tips and tricks used in professional floristry. This will be followed by a light lunch where tea, coffee and champagne will also be provided.
